China, UAE Presidents Vow to Deepen Strategic Partnership
Chinese President Xi Jinping held talks with UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan in Beijing, with both leaders vowing to deepen the comprehensive strategic partnership between their countries.
Xi noted this year marks the 40th anniversary of China-UAE diplomatic ties, calling it an important juncture to forge ahead based on past achievements. He said China supports the UAE's independent development path and safeguarding its sovereignty and interests.
The two sides agreed to continuously promote high-quality Belt and Road cooperation, strengthen synergy of development strategies, and expand outcomes in areas like trade, energy, infrastructure, IT, AI, digital economy and new energy. Xi encouraged strengthening people-to-people exchanges.
Noting the trend towards a multi-polar world is unstoppable, Xi said multi-polarization should mean mutual respect and peaceful coexistence among civilizations, systems and paths.
Xi said China is ready to work with the UAE and other Arab states to host the 2nd China-Arab States Summit and promote building a China-Arab community with a shared future. He called for safeguarding the common interests of the Global South.
Mohamed bin Zayed said deepening relations with China conforms to the aspiration and interests of Arab and Gulf nations. He stressed the UAE regards China as a top priority and long-term, reliable strategic partner.
The UAE adheres to the one-China policy, opposes "Taiwan independence" and supports China's reunification efforts, Mohamed bin Zayed affirmed. He said the UAE actively supports Xi's Global Development, Security and Civilization initiatives and Belt and Road participation.
The leaders witnessed the signing of cooperation documents spanning investment, Belt and Road, science, nuclear energy, education, culture and tourism.
