Humanoid robots assist police in Hangzhou

A uniformed humanoid robot worked alongside police in Hangzhou, capital of east China's Zhejiang Province on Friday, giving a glimpse of the tech-infused future.
Based on a large domestic model, the robot can carry out a variety of police work such as public security management, street patrol, emergency support, etc., assist in dealing with emergencies, and support large-scale activities.
In recent developments, Chinese law enforcement agencies have begun integrating advanced robotic technologies into their operations to enhance public safety and efficiency.
In Shenzhen, a city in southern China, humanoid robots have been deployed to assist police officers in routine patrols. These robots are designed to perform tasks such as basic information collection, patrolling, and providing police services. Their integration aims to augment the capabilities of human officers, allowing for more effective law enforcement.
In Wenzhou, Zhejiang Province, police have introduced an amphibious spherical robot to aid in patrol duties. Weighing approximately 125 kilograms and capable of reaching speeds up to 35 kilometers per hour, this robot can operate both on land and in water. Equipped with tools such as net guns, tear gas sprayers, and loudspeakers, it is designed to handle situations that may be too hazardous for human officers.
Additionally, robotic dogs have been observed patrolling alongside police officers in eastern China. These quadruped robots are utilized for their agility and ability to navigate complex terrains, providing valuable support in various law enforcement scenarios.
The adoption of these robotic systems reflects China's commitment to integrating cutting-edge technology into public service sectors, aiming to enhance the effectiveness and safety of law enforcement activities.
