Donald Trump hurled insults at his presidential election opponent Kamala Harris at a rally in Pennsylvania, calling the Democratic Vice President “stupid” and saying she should be prosecuted for her alleged failure to stop illegal migrants from entering the U.S. and committing crimes.

His rally in Erie was the former president and Republican nominee’s fourth campaign stop in a month in what has become the 2024 campaign's most hotly contested state.

Trump cited data provided recently to Congress by ICE (U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement), saying that over 13,000 migrants convicted of homicide are outside of ICE detention, saying that Harris “let them in”.

“Already, hundreds of people have been murdered because of her action at the border and thousands more will follow in rapid succession. She should be impeached and prosecuted for her actions,” Trump said.

Of the seven competitive states that both Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris, his Democratic rival, have a realistic shot at winning, Pennsylvania is the most populous and awards the most votes in the Electoral College, which in turn is used to select the overall winner of the election.

Vice President Kamala Harris energized a crowd in Las Vegas, focusing her speech on the upcoming election while addressing the damage caused by Hurricane Helene.

Harris spoke passionately about Helene's devastation, expressing solidarity with affected communities and speaking about relief efforts.

Harris also challenged her Republican opponent, Donald Trump, to another debate. "The American people have a right to hear us discuss the issues."

“I want to thank the first responders who have done so much and we will stand with these communities for as long as it takes to make sure they are able to recover and rebuild. More than 33,000 federal personnel have been mobilized,” Harris said.

The rally took place at a location previously visited by Trump, part of Harris's strategy of campaigning in competitive swing areas.
