Speaking to a crowd in Greensboro, North Carolina, former US President Donald Trump went after his Democratic rivals calling vice president Harris "a low IQ individual", and her running mate Tim Walz "the stupidest man" running for office.

Trump once again pointed fingers to the federal government for its response following hurricane Helene and urged displaced voters to request ballots to their temporary accommodations.

The storm dumped more than 35 centimeters of rain over three days onto western North Carolina, transforming mountainsides into mudslides and creeks into torrents.

"With four more years of Kamala Harris, North Carolina will be an economic wasteland. That's what's going to happen. The rest of your companies are going to move out. Everybody knows that, the smart people know, she's the only one that doesn't know it. Low IQ, she's a low IQ individual," Trump said.

Trump also questioned why Arab Americans would support Harris after being endorsed by former representative Liz Cheney, daughter of former vice president Dick Cheney who Trump blamed for his role in the Middle East conflicts during the Bush era.

In the meanwhile former US President Barack Obama energized a Harris-Walz campaign rally in Detroit, Michigan, by kicking off his speech with the first lines of Eminem's hit "Lose Yourself".

“You know, I have done a lot of rallies, so I don't usually get nervous, but I was feeling some kind of way following Eminem. And I noticed my palms are sweaty, knees weak, arms are heavy," Obama rapped in front of supporters.

Detroit-native Eminem introduced the former president and urged attendees to vote.

Obama will stay on the campaign trail in the coming days, where he is scheduled to appear at a concert and rally with Rock legend Bruce Springsteen in Atlanta and Philadelphia as part of a series of get-out-the-vote events for Harris’s campaign in battleground states, a senior campaign official said.
