Iran president to visit New York to attend 77th UN General Assembly session
Iranian President Ebrahim Raeisi will set off for New York to deliver a speech at the 77th United Nations General Assembly session about the Islamic Republic's stance on the “fair international order through economic multilateralism.”
Heading a high-ranking delegation, Raeisi would leave Tehran to attend the annual meeting and hold talks with heads of states attending the events as well as international figures.
On Sunday, the Iranian president met with the Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei upon return from the Uzbek capital city of Samarkand, where he attended the 22nd Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit.
The Leader of the Islamic Revolution expressed his satisfaction with the report and the set of measures taken and wished the president success on the eve of his trip to New York.
Ebrahim Raeisi said has no plans for either meeting or talking with his American counterpart, Joe Biden, during his upcoming trip to New York.
"The new administration in the US, they claim that they are different from the Trump administration," Raeisi said, adding, "They have said it in their messages to us. But we haven't witnessed any changes in reality."
The Iranian president censured a raft of new sanctions that Washington had imposed most recently on Iran.
During this trip, in addition to his speech at the United Nations General Assembly and the meeting of the UNESCO, the President will also meet and discuss with a number of heads of countries participating in the General Assembly and will have other side meetings as well.
