Nigeria rescues 308 abducted citizens
Nigerian security forces rescued 308 individuals abducted by armed groups in the country's northern and central regions. This collaborative operation is hailed as Nigeria's largest single-day hostage rescue.Among those freed, 163 had been held since February following a deadly attack on Woro community in Kwara State's Kaiama district, which killed 170 and abducted many. Another 145 were seized from neighboring Niger State.The rescue culminated in Niger State's Kainji Lake National Park forest, where victims were held.
