Qalibaf Calls Iran-U.S. War a true victory

Iran’s parliament speaker said the country secured a true victory in its confrontation with the United States and Israel, insisting that both rivals failed to achieve any of their stated aims. Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf described the conflict as an unfair war imposed by Washington and Tel Aviv, and said Iran’s response showed the strength of its military, political leadership, and public unity. He framed the outcome as proof that the Islamic Republic was able to withstand heavy pressure without conceding ground.

Qalibaf said the Iranian people played a decisive role by remaining united during the fighting, which he said lasted around 40 days. He praised the armed forces, security institutions, and political authorities for coordinating their response and maintaining the country’s deterrence capabilities. In his view, the resistance of the military and the support of the public prevented the attackers from reaching their goals and left Iran in a stronger position than before.

He also said the war had a political dimension, not just a military one, and argued that Iran emerged with its diplomatic standing intact. According to Qalibaf, the conflict exposed weaknesses in U.S. and Israeli strategy while strengthening Iran’s position in regional and international affairs. He described the outcome as a source of national pride and said the experience should be used to improve preparedness and reduce vulnerabilities to future military or economic pressure.

The parliament speaker pointed to a memorandum of understanding signed with the United States in June as evidence of diplomatic success, calling it a document of pride and victory. He said Washington later violated its commitments, which prompted a firm Iranian response.

Qalibaf’s remarks also sought to underline the role of social cohesion, saying that people from different ethnic and religious backgrounds stood together in defense of the country and the Islamic Revolution.
