Venezuela rallies for Iran in Caracas

In Caracas, hundreds gathered to demonstrate support for Iran amid escalating tensions with Israel, featuring prominent Venezuelan officials such as Interior Minister Diosdado Cabello and National Assembly President Jorge Rodriguez. The march was a response to recent Israeli airstrikes on Iranian targets, which have resulted in significant casualties. Rodriguez condemned Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu, labeling him a war criminal and a threat to global peace.
Cabello emphasized Venezuela's solidarity with Iran, asserting that the country has the right to defend itself against aggression. He criticized the United Nations for its perceived inaction regarding the situation in Palestine and claimed that Iran's response to Israeli actions has exposed Israel as vulnerable. He warned that those celebrating attacks on Iran might target countries like Venezuela, Nicaragua, and Cuba next.
Rodriguez echoed these sentiments, expressing "infinite solidarity" with the Palestinian people and denouncing international human rights organizations for their silence on the violence in Gaza. He called for Venezuela to withdraw from the International Criminal Court, criticizing it for failing to uphold human rights.
The Palestinian Ambassador to Venezuela, Fadi al-Zaben, thanked President Nicolas Maduro and the Venezuelan people for their unwavering support, condemning Israel for civilian casualties and criticizing international institutions for their silence. Iranian Ambassador Ali Chegini reaffirmed Iran's commitment to justice and sovereignty, highlighting the ongoing struggle against imperialist aggression. The demonstration underscored the deepening ties between Venezuela and Iran, rooted in shared economic, geopolitical, and ideological interests.
