The annual Misano MotoGP Official Test took place with Ducati Lenovo's Francesco Bagnaia setting the fastest time of 1:30.619. Franco Morbidelli of Prima Pramac and Enea Bastianini completed the top three.
The eight-hour test began slowly due to overnight rain but picked up pace as the day progressed. Bagnaia secured the top spot with two hours remaining, while Morbidelli claimed second place in the final hour.
Ducati continued to dominate, with Bagnaia testing a new chassis. Other notable performances included Pedro Acosta of Red Bull GAS GAS Tech3 finishing fourth, and Fabio Quartararo of Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP Team placing fifth.
KTM had Brad Binder testing an experimental machine with a different engine, aero, and exhaust. Legend Daniel Pedrosa took over Jack Miller's garage for part of the day.
Aprilia focused on improving setup and ergonomics, with Maverick Viñales and Aleix Espargaro working on enhancements. Trackhouse Racing's Raul Fernandez tested both RS-GP23 and RS-GP24 models.
Honda attracted significant attention, with Joan Mir and Luca Marini returning after recent illnesses. Mir had access to three bikes, including one from wildcard Stefan Bradl. Johann Zarco of CASTROL Honda LCR tried a new side fairing and reported positive findings.
The test provided teams with valuable data and opportunities to trial new parts and setups. Championship leader Jorge Martin finished sixth, while San Marino GP winner Marc Marquez claimed seventh place.
This test marks an important step for teams as they fine-tune their machines and strategies ahead of the upcoming Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix. The day's results highlight the ongoing dominance of Ducati, while other manufacturers continue to push for improvements to challenge the Italian team's supremacy.
As the MotoGP season progresses, these test sessions play a crucial role in the development of bikes and the evolution of team strategies, potentially influencing the championship's outcome.
