King hosts UK enterprise award winners

King Charles III hosted a distinguished reception at Windsor Castle to honor the recipients of The King’s Award for Enterprise, the United Kingdom’s most prestigious business accolade. This event marked the 59th year of the awards and the third under their current title, following the renaming from The Queen’s Award for Enterprise in 2023 .
The reception celebrated 197 British businesses recognized for their exceptional achievements across four key categories: Innovation, International Trade, Sustainable Development, and Promoting Opportunity through Social Mobility . Notably, 88% of these awardees are small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), highlighting the significant contributions of smaller firms to the UK economy. Among the honorees were Delta Fire, acknowledged for both Innovation and Sustainable Development, and Social Pantry, recognized for its impactful work in promoting social mobility through inclusive hiring practices .
In the absence of Queen Camilla, King Charles was accompanied by senior members of the Royal Family, including The Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, The Princess Royal, and The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester . During the event, His Majesty engaged with award recipients, commending their contributions to British industry and innovation.
The King’s Awards for Enterprise, instituted by Royal Warrant in 1965, grants winners the right to display the esteemed King's Awards Emblem on their products and marketing materials for a period of five years, symbolizing excellence and enhancing their global reputation .
