Thousands of Moroccans gathered in Rabat to express solidarity with the Palestinian people in Gaza and to condemn Israeli and U.S. military operations against Iran. This rally, one of the largest pro-Palestinian demonstrations in recent months, was organized primarily by the Justice and Development Party and the Moroccan Front in Support of Palestine and Against Normalization. Protesters, many affiliated with Islamist and leftist movements, marched along Mohamed V Avenue and around Parliament, waving Palestinian flags and chanting slogans in support of Palestinian armed groups.

The demonstrators called for an immediate end to Israel's military offensive in Gaza, demanded the opening of the Rafah crossing for humanitarian aid, and urged the Moroccan government to sever ties with Israel. Slogans such as “The people want the liberation of Palestine!” echoed throughout the crowd, while symbolic gestures included carrying white shrouds stained with red to represent the casualties in Gaza.

This wave of protests comes amid ongoing Israeli military actions that have resulted in over 1,300 Palestinian deaths since mid-March 2025, with Gaza health authorities reporting more than 50,000 total casualties since October 2023. The situation remains dire, with 60 fatalities reported in just the past 24 hours. The demonstrators' actions reflect a growing frustration with the humanitarian crisis in Gaza and a strong opposition to Morocco's normalization of relations with Israel. The rally emphasizes the urgent need for humanitarian corridors to assist those affected by the conflict, highlighting the deepening concerns over the impact of military operations on civilians in the region.
