U.S. Navy demonstrates unmanned vessels
The U.S. Navy demonstrated advanced USVs during BALTOPS 2026 off Poland. The exercise (June 4-19, 2026) involved 6,000 personnel and 20 vessels from 15 Allied nations, enhancing security and interoperability. U.S. Navy's USVDIV-32 deployed Global Autonomous Reconnaissance Craft (GARCs) as an opposing force, allowing NATO to train against unmanned threats at sea. It offered allied navies an opportunity to engage with sea drone technology, refining tactics for identifying and neutralizing vessels.
