Apple unveils ultra-slim iPhone Air

Apple has introduced a new iPhone model, the iPhone "Air," during its latest product launch event, highlighting its ultra-slim design and advanced technology. Priced starting at $999, the iPhone Air features a high-density battery and the new A19 Pro processor, which enhances energy efficiency and performance. CEO Tim Cook described the device as a "game changer," emphasizing its durability as the most robust iPhone yet.

The iPhone Air measures just 5.6 mm thick and weighs 165 grams, making it the thinnest iPhone to date. It boasts a titanium frame and Ceramic Shield 2 rear glass for improved durability. The device is equipped with a 6.5-inch ProMotion display that supports a 120 Hz refresh rate and can reach up to 3,000 nits of brightness, ensuring vibrant visuals in various lighting conditions. Storage options begin at 256 GB, and the phone runs on iOS 26.

In addition to the iPhone Air, Apple launched the iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Pro, which feature enhancements such as a brighter, scratch-resistant screen and improved front-facing camera capabilities. The base model iPhone 17 starts at $799, maintaining the same price as its predecessor while offering double the storage. The iPhone 17 Pro also starts at $1,099 for the 256 GB model, consistent with the previous year's pricing.

Apple also unveiled the new AirPods Pro 3, which will include live translation features for conversations, priced at $249. These earbuds will be available starting September 19. The product launch occurs amid a global trade reordering, with Apple estimating that tariffs will cost the company over $1 billion in the current fiscal quarter.

The iPhone Air relies solely on eSIM functionality to maximize internal space and offers impressive battery life, with up to 27 hours of video playback on a full charge. Apple has also introduced a range of accessories for the Air, including a sleek MagSafe battery pack and various protective cases, all designed with portability and style in mind. This launch reflects Apple's commitment to combining exceptional portability with advanced engineering and refined materials.
