China EV expo draws 650 global firms
At the third China International Supply Chain Expo in Beijing, over 650 companies from more than 75 countries showcased innovations in the electric vehicle (EV) supply chain. The event highlighted advancements in raw materials, battery systems, motor-electronic control units, safety systems, and charging infrastructure. Notable exhibits included XPENG’s AI-powered vehicles and a collaborative booth featuring major suppliers like CATL and Bosch, emphasizing China's emergence as a global hub for smart vehicle innovation.
The expo served as a platform for fostering resilient and cooperative global supply chains amid ongoing geopolitical tensions and trade protectionism. With the International Monetary Fund projecting a slowdown in global growth, experts underscored the importance of collaboration to enhance supply chain connectivity. The event aimed to connect Chinese firms with international partners, promoting technical alignment and deeper economic cooperation.
China's commitment to open international trade was evident, with President Xi Jinping advocating for the stability of global supply chains and encouraging foreign investment. The expo provided multinational companies access to China's vast market and industrial ecosystem, while Chinese firms sought to expand their international presence.
The event also showcased China's economic resilience, with a reported 5.3 percent GDP growth in the first half of the year, bolstering confidence in its long-term prospects. As China transitions from a manufacturing base to an innovation hub, global companies recognized its comprehensive EV supply chain and advanced capabilities in artificial intelligence and technology.
The expo highlighted the Chinese government's efforts to optimize the business environment, offering foreign firms greater market access and opportunities for collaboration. As China continues to pursue high-quality development, the event reinforced its role as a strategic destination for multinational firms looking to diversify their supply chains and enhance global connectivity.
