Iran claims hit on U.S. F-35 jet

An informed Iranian source told Tasnim News Agency that reports claiming a second U.S. F-35 was destroyed remain unconfirmed, suggesting such rumors may be propaganda and pledging official confirmation if verified. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) earlier said its air defenses struck a U.S. F-35 over central Iran, with the jet's fate under investigation and a high likelihood of crash, following claims it downed more than 125 U.S. and Israeli drones.

Independent verification of the IRGC’s F-35 and many strike claims remains pending.

The IRGC also announced the 65th–66th waves of "Operation True Promise‑4," saying its missiles and drones targeted Israeli facilities—including oil refineries in Haifa and Ashdod, and sites in central and southern Israel—and U.S.-linked bases across the Persian Gulf, claiming use of upgraded cruise and ultra‑heavy multi‑warhead missiles.

Meanwhile Israel said it struck over 130 targets in western and central Iran, aiming to degrade missile, drone and air‑defense capabilities; Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed operations would continue "as long as necessary" and Iran no longer has the capacity to enrich uranium or make ballistic missiles after 20 days of U.S.-Israeli air attacks.
