Footage from Iranian state TV showed the moment multiple strikes interrupted its live broadcast.

A news anchor attempted to continue the broadcast despite the sounds of explosions but finally left the studio as a direct hit caused debris to fly through the air and dust to rise.

Netanyahu ordered a surprise attack on Iran in the early hours of Friday, vowing to end Tehran's nuclear ambitions, which he says represent an existential threat to his nation.

The attack, involving at least four bombs, struck the central building housing IRIB’s news department, while a live news broadcast was underway.

At the time of the attack, news anchor Sahar Emami was presenting the news. Despite the building trembling under the first strike, she stood her ground and continued the broadcast.

Israel’s war ministry promptly claimed responsibility for the attack. Iran’s foreign ministry condemned the aggression on the state broadcaster as a “war crime” and called on the United Nations to take immediate action against the Zionist regime.

Foreign ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei denounced the attack and urged the international community to hold the regime accountable for its assault on the media.

In response, Iran has fired nightly barrages of ballistic missiles. Stunning cockpit footage filmed mid-air above Dubai shows Iran's ballistic missiles streaking toward Israel.

Israeli officials say eight people have reportedly been killed overnight in the latest round of Iranian strikes, as the conflict between the two regional rivals enters a fourth day. The total number of people killed since Friday stands at 24, according to the Israeli PM’s office and media reports.

Iran says more than 200 people have been killed there since the start of the conflict. Iran’s foreign ministry has challenged Israel’s characterisation of what it has described as ‘surgical’ strikes in Tehran, saying that many women and children have been killed in residential areas.
