Israel media claim strike kills Ali Shamkhani

Israeli media claim that Ali Shamkhani, the secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of Iran and a senior advisor to Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei, was also targeted in the attack. The incident marks a serious escalation amid rising tensions between Israel and Iran.
Ali Shamkhani, a senior Iranian official and political advisor to Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, was killed in an Israeli airstrike. The strike targeted multiple Iranian military and nuclear facilities, including the IRGC's General Command Headquarters in Tehran. Shamkhani, who had previously served as Iran's Minister of Defence and Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council, was among several high-ranking Iranian officials killed in the operation, codenamed "Operation Rising Lion."
Official Iranian sources have yet to confirm the full extent of the casualties or the details surrounding the strike.
The Israeli operation aimed to dismantle Iran's nuclear program and targeted key military figures and facilities. In addition to Shamkhani, other prominent figures killed included IRGC Commander-in-Chief Hossein Salami, Chief of Staff Mohammad Bagheri, and nuclear scientists Fereydoun Abbasi-Davani and Mohammad Mehdi Tehranchi.
In response to the Israeli strikes, Iran launched over 100 drones toward Israel, prompting heightened military alerts and airspace closures across the region. The international community has expressed concern over the potential for further escalation.
