Kosir and Hofmeister triumph in giant slalom

In a thrilling display of snowboarding excellence at Val Saint-Come, Slovenia's Zan Kosir and Germany's Ramona Theresia Hofmeister claimed victory in the FIS parallel giant slalom competition. Kosir secured a narrow win in the men's event, besting Austrian Benjamin Karl by just 0.14 seconds. The podium was completed by Bulgaria's Radoslav Yankov, who outperformed Italy's Daniele Bagozza in the battle for third place.

The current World Cup standings show Yankov holding second position behind Italian leader Maurizio Bormolini, while Karl maintains fourth place. Bagozza and Kosir occupy eighth and thirteenth positions respectively.

In the women's competition, Hofmeister demonstrated her dominance by finishing 0.49 seconds ahead of Austria's Sabine Payer. The Netherlands' Michelle Dekker rounded out the podium, prevailing over Germany's Cheyene Loch in the third-place contest.

Hofmeister's impressive performance places her third in the World Cup rankings, trailing Japan's Tsubaki Miki and Poland's Aleksandra Krol-Walas. Payer holds fourth position, followed closely by Dekker in fifth and Loch in eighth.
