Addressing a memorial ceremony for soldiers who were killed during and after the Hamas-led attack on Israeli communities on Oct. 7, 2023, Netanyahu said that Israel 'fulfilled its promise' to retaliate against Iranian attacks on its cities.

"The air force attacked throughout Iran. We hit Iran's defense capabilities and its ability to produce missiles that are aimed at us," Netanyahu said.

"The attack in Iran was precise and powerful, and it achieved all its objectives," he said.

Israeli airstrikes hit key Iranian military facilities near Tehran, targeting buildings linked to missile production and a former nuclear weapons program site, according to expert analysis of satellite imagery.

David Albright, a former U.N. weapons inspector, and Decker Eveleth, a CNA research analyst, independently confirmed that Israel struck facilities in Parchin and Khojir military complexes. The attacks reportedly damaged Taleghan 2, a building previously associated with Iran's discontinued Amad Plan nuclear weapons program, along with multiple missile fuel mixing facilities.

The strikes, conducted in three waves, were Israel's retaliation for Iran's October 1 barrage of over 200 missiles. According to Eveleth, the precision strikes may have "significantly hampered Iran's ability to mass produce missiles" by destroying crucial solid-fuel mixing facilities and specialized industrial mixers that are difficult to replace due to export controls.

Meanwhile Iranian officials should determine how best to demonstrate Iran's power to Israel after the Israeli attack on Iran two nights ago, Iran's news agency cited the country's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei as saying.

"The evil committed by the Zionist regime (Israel) two nights ago should neither be downplayed nor exaggerated", Khamenei said.

Iran played down Israel's overnight air attack against Iranian military targets, saying it caused only limited damage.

Iranian state media said 10 officers had been killed.
