Egypt hosts global aerospace showcase
Egypt is hosting the second El Alamein International Airshow at El Alamein International Airport from September 8 to 10, with a conference on September 7. The event showcases advancements in defense, commercial aviation, and space, spearheaded by the Egyptian Ministry of Defence, Air Force, Civil Aviation, Space Agency, and EgyptAir. The event aims to accelerate industrialization, digitalization, and global integration of aerospace capabilities in North Africa and the Middle East, fostering investment, technology exchange, and international cooperation. The airshow draws participation from over 80 countries, with more than 200 exhibitors and over 100 high-level VIPs, including military, government, and aerospace industry representatives. Over 50 aircraft are on display with daily flying demonstrations of commercial and military platforms. The exhibition features advanced air defense systems, fighter aircraft, military aviation technologies, space technology, and next-generation commercial aircraft. Manufacturers, electronics, space suppliers, and R&D institutions showcase advancements. The event is a trade-only gathering, restricted to approved business, trade, and government visitors, facilitating targeted connections. International engagement includes a U.S. pavilion with over 25 American aerospace and defense companies and military aircraft. Russian and Chinese aircraft, including the Su-57 and various Chinese fighters, are also present, underscoring Egypt's role in the global arms trade and reflecting a commitment to regional stability and cooperation.
