Four people were wounded in a stabbing attack in central Tel Aviv, according to the Israeli emergency services, Magen David Adom (MDA).

Israeli police said the attacker was "neutralised" but gave no more details about the attacker's identity or condition.

A body was seen lying on the ground at the site of the attack, surrounded by police forces.

All four victims were taken to the hospital - two had moderate wounds and the other two had minor ones, according to the MDA.

Police said they were still assessing the area to rule out any additional attackers.

Citing initial reports, Channel 13 said that the injuries ranged from moderate to minor.

The attacker has been identified as an American citizen of Moroccan descent who had entered Israel as a tourist several days ago.

Magen David Adom, Israel's emergency medical service, said two of the injured sustained moderate stab wounds while two others had minor injuries. Witnesses described hearing gunfire during the incident. Israeli Army Radio reported the attack occurred at two locations in Tel Aviv.

Drone footage shot, following the Israel-Gaza ceasefire, showed extensive destruction in Rafah, with destroyed buildings and rubble expanding as far as the eye can see.

The ceasefire, that took into effect, suspended a 15-month-old war that has devastated the Gaza Strip and inflamed the Middle East.

The truce allowed Palestinians to return to bombed-out neighborhoods to begin rebuilding their lives, while relief trucks delivered much-needed aid.

The war on Gaza began after Hamas, which controls the tiny coastal territory, attacked Israel on Oct. 7, 2023, killing some 1,200 people and abducting more than 250 people, according to Israeli authorities.

More than 47,000 Palestinians have since been killed in Israeli attacks, according to medical officials in Gaza. Nearly the entire 2.3 million population of Gaza is homeless. Around 400 Israeli soldiers have also died.
