Iran launches new missile waves
Tehran says strikes hit Israel and U.S. bases as interim council meets
The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) and the Iranian Army have announced the launch of fresh waves of massive missile strikes targeting strategic sites in the Israeli-occupied territories and US bases across the region.
The IRGC said in a statement that homegrown Kheybar missiles were deployed in the tenth wave of massive precision missile strikes deep inside the occupied territories as part of Operation True Promise 4.
“Precision strikes on the regime’s administrative institutions in Tel Aviv, attacks against military and security installations in Haifa as well as areas in East al-Quds were among the objectives of the Iranian missile strikes,” the statement read.
Footages showing the jet's descent and crash into Kuwaiti soil were published both in social media and multiple media websites. Kuwait’s defense ministry issued a statement acknowledging the destruction of the aircraft. This is the first time in 27 years that a US manned fighter jet has been officially reported destroyed.
Also The IRGC claims that more than 500 Americans were killed and wounded. Meanwhile in its statement, the Army announced that its land and naval missile units from various areas targeted the Ali al-Salem US airbase in Kuwait and enemy ships in the North Indian Ocean with the launch of 15 cruise missiles. The US military has confirmed that three American troops were killed and five others seriously wounded in Iranian attacks on American bases in the region.
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, the Head of the Judiciary Gholam-Hossein Mohseni-Eje'i and the Deputy Chairman of the Assembly of Experts, Alireza Arafi, attended a meeting of the interim leadership council of Iran in an unknown location, amid the U.S.-Israel conflict with Iran.
The constitution says a new leader must be chosen within three months. Until then Pezeshkian, Arafi and Mohseni-Ejei will take charge as a temporary leadership council.
