Israel operates in Golan Heights buffer zone
The Israeli military was seen operating inside the area of separation between the Israeli-occupied area and Syria in the Golan Heights.
Vehicles were seen driving in and out of the fenced area that separates the UN - patrolled demilitarized zone, created after the 1973 Arab-Israeli war.
Israeli vehicles have regularly made incursions in the area since the fall of the Bashar al-Assad regime.
The United Nations Security Council extended a long-running peacekeeping mission in the Golan Heights for six months and expressed concern that military activities in the area could escalate tensions.
Israeli officials have described the move as a limited and temporary measure to ensure the security of Israel's borders but have given no indication of when the troops might be withdrawn.
Meanwhile Seven people were killed and others seriously wounded in an Israeli strike on the upper floor of Al-Wafaa hospital in the center of Gaza city, the Palestinian civil defence said.
The Israeli military said the strike was aimed at members of the Hamas "Aerial Defence Unit," who operated from the compound, saying the place no longer served as a hospital. It said the militants used the compound to plan and execute attacks against Israeli troops in the immediate future.
In a separate attack, health officials said an Israeli tank shell hit the upper floor of the Al-Ahly Arab Baptist Hospital in Gaza City near the X-ray division.
Palestinian health officials said Israeli military strikes across the enclave killed at least 16 people in total.
The Israeli Air Force said they intercepted two rockets launched after sirens were triggered in different areas near Jerusalem.
Footage captured on camera showed the moment two rockets shot up into the sky near the Gaza border but did not show the interception.
At least 45,484 Palestinians have been killed and 108,090 wounded in Israel's military offensive on Gaza since Oct. 7, 2023, Gaza's health ministry reported.
