Israel strikes Iran’s nuclear sites

Israel launched significant military strikes against Iran's nuclear program, with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stating that the operations would continue until the threat from Iran is eliminated. The offensive, named "Rising Lion," targeted key facilities related to Iran's nuclear enrichment and missile capabilities, as well as Iranian commanders. 

Footage shared on social media depicted extensive destruction, with buildings in flames following the strikes. In a notable development, Iranian state television reported the death of General Hossein Salami, the commander-in-chief of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), during the attacks.

Netanyahu emphasized that the strikes were aimed at the "heart" of Iran's nuclear weaponization efforts, asserting that Israel would not permit those who threaten its existence to develop the means to do so. He described the operation as a necessary military response to safeguard Israel's survival and indicated that it would persist for as long as needed.

In response to the escalating tensions, Israel declared a nationwide state of emergency and closed its airspace, redirecting all flights to other countries. Reports from Iranian media confirmed multiple explosions in and around Tehran, with additional loud blasts reported across the capital. In light of the situation, Iran suspended all flights at Imam Khomeini Airport.

Both nations appear to be bracing for potential military confrontation, with Iran reportedly formulating counterstrike plans that include ballistic missile targets aimed at Israeli territory. The situation remains tense as both sides prepare for possible further escalation.
