Iran says nuclear site hit with no damage

Strike reported at Bushehr plant

The Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) reported that a projectile struck the Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant in the country’s south, marking what it called the third attack on the facility amid ongoing US–Israeli military actions against Iran. The AEOI said preliminary assessments found no human, financial or technical damage and that the plant remains fully operational.

The agency warned that any harm to the civilian nuclear site, which contains significant radioactive material, could cause a serious regional nuclear incident and accused the attackers of violating international law protecting peaceful nuclear facilities.

The AEOI condemned what it described as international inaction, singling out the International Atomic Energy Agency, and labeled the perpetrators the “criminal American‑Zionist enemy.”

Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said Iran’s civilian infrastructure has been targeted and vowed that Tehran would exact a “heavy price” for strikes attributed to Israel, disputing US claims of a pause in hostilities.

The incident comes amid broader regional escalation after a US–Israeli offensive late last month, followed by Iranian drone and missile reprisals against Israel and sites in neighboring countries, which have caused casualties, infrastructure damage and wider disruptions.
