Fire hits Tehran refinery after strike
A significant fire erupted at an oil refinery near Tehran following an Israeli airstrike, according to state media. Footage captured a large plume of smoke rising from the site. The semi-official Tasnim news agency reported that the fire was a direct result of the Israeli attack, which also targeted a defense ministry building in Iran, causing minor damage.
This incident marks a continuation of escalating hostilities between Israel and Iran, with both nations launching fresh attacks on each other. Israeli strikes on Tehran included loud explosions in the western part of the city, reportedly hitting an oil storage facility in the Shehran neighborhood. These actions followed a large-scale Israeli offensive on Iranian territory, targeting nuclear and missile facilities, resulting in at least 78 fatalities and over 320 injuries, including military officials and scientists.
Video evidence showed smoke rising from an automotive factory in western Iran, which was also reportedly struck by Israeli forces. The exact date of the attack remains unverified. Iranian media indicated that additional strikes occurred at a garrison in Kermanshah and the Borujerd factory.
The conflict intensified as Iran retaliated with ballistic missile strikes across Israel, resulting in three Israeli deaths and over 170 injuries. In response, Israeli forces conducted further airstrikes, claiming to have targeted Iranian missile launchers. The ongoing exchanges of missile and airstrikes have raised concerns about a broader conflict in the region, as both nations continue to engage in aggressive military actions against each other.
