Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump slammed Vice President and now rival Kamala Harris for her performance at the Democratic National Convention this week in Chicago, Illinois.

Speaking at a campaign rally in Glendale, Arizona, Trump called Harris a liar who "makes up crap" and accused the Vice President of focusing on him instead of discussing the U.S.-Mexico border or inflation.

Trump's comments came one day after Harris accepted the Democratic Party's presidential nomination with a speech.

Meanwhile Former independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. joined Republican nominee Donald Trump on stage during a rally in Glendale, Arizona.

While on stage, Trump described Kennedy Jr. as a "very low-key person", but "highly respected" nonetheless.

The former president promised to set up a commission to investigate presidential assassination attempts, which he said would be tasked with releasing documents pertaining to the 1963 assassination of then-President John F. Kennedy, Kennedy Jr.'s uncle.

Trump also said he would install a panel to investigate "an increase in chronic health problems and childhood diseases" as a "tribute" to Kennedy Jr.

“Tonight I'm very pleased to welcome a man who has been an incredible champion for so many of these values that we all share, and we've shared them for a long time. I don't think too many of you people have heard of him. He's very low key. He's a very low key person. But he's highly respected. He is a great person. I've known him for so long, for the past 16 months. Robert F. Kennedy Jr,” Trump said.

Kennedy Jr. abandoned his campaign and endorsed Trump, ending a presidential bid that he began as a Democrat trading on one of the most famous names in American politics.

Strategists said it was unclear whether Kennedy's endorsement would help Trump, who is locked in a tight contest with Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris ahead of the Nov. 5 election.
