China's Unitree Robotics launches IPO
China's Unitree Robotics has commenced subscriptions for its initial public offering on the Shanghai Stock Exchange's STAR Market, following strong investor demand. The Hangzhou-based company aims to raise approximately 6.1 billion yuan (about 904 million US dollars) by offering over 40.4 million shares, representing ten percent of its post-offering capital. Each share is priced at 150.80 yuan (roughly 22 US dollars), targeting a market valuation of approximately 61 billion yuan (around 9 billion US dollars). Unitree Robotics specializes in the research, development, production, and sale of high-performance general-purpose humanoid and quadruped robots, along with their essential components and embodied intelligence models. It is recognized for its Go series quadruped robots and its H1 and G1 humanoid models. This IPO marks Unitree Robotics as the first humanoid robot company to go public on mainland China's stock exchanges. The offering has seen overwhelming investor interest. The retail portion was oversubscribed by 5,526 times, with individual investors submitting nearly 9.8 million orders, highlighting confidence in AI and advanced robotics. Unitree's 2025 revenue quadrupled year-over-year to 1.7 billion yuan, and the company shipped around 5,500 humanoid units in 2025. Approximately 85 percent of the funds raised are earmarked for research and development projects, reflecting Unitree's commitment to innovation. The rapid regulatory review of 104 days underscores the Chinese government's strategic focus on the robotics and artificial intelligence sectors. This listing is a significant milestone for Unitree Robotics and the entire Chinese robotics industry.
