Ken Jeong receives Hollywood Walk of Fame star
Ken Jeong, the renowned actor, comedian, and former physician, received the 2,794th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame at 1708 Vine Street. The ceremony featured appearances by notable entertainment figures, including Joel McHale, Randall Park, Nick Cannon, Jenny McCarthy Wahlberg, and a performance by Robin Thicke.
During the emotional ceremony, Jeong dedicated his star to his fans and especially to his wife Tran, emphasizing her crucial role in his success. He also shared an inspiring message to aspiring Asian-American entertainers, noting that his star was purposefully placed next to those of Lucy Liu and Anna May Wong.
Jeong's remarkable journey from medicine to entertainment began after completing his medical degree at the University of North Carolina and residency at Ochsner Medical Center. His breakthrough came with "Knocked Up" in 2007, leading to memorable roles in "The Hangover" franchise, "Community," "Crazy Rich Asians," and "Dr. Ken."
Currently, Jeong serves as a panelist on "The Masked Singer" and hosts "I Can See Your Voice." His upcoming projects include Fox's "Accused," "A Great Divide," "The 4:30 Movie," and "My Spy: The Eternal City." He recently appeared in AppleTV+'s "The After Party" and Netflix's stand-up special "You Complete Me, Ho."
Ana Martinez, Producer of the Hollywood Walk of Fame, praised Jeong's dedication and talent, highlighting his transition from medicine to entertainment as a testament to his remarkable abilities. Beyond his entertainment career, Jeong actively volunteers with Stand Up 2 Cancer and advocates against racism and hate crimes targeting the AAPI community.
