UAE's Largest Aid Ship for Gaza Arrives in Egypt
The fourth and largest UAE aid ship for Gaza docked in Egypt's Arish sea port.
The ship carries 5,300 tonnes of aid to Palestinians in Gaza as part of the UAE's Operation Chivalrous Knight.
During his visit to Arish, Secretary General of Emirates Red Crescent Authority, Rashid Al Mansouri, was received by Egypt's North Sinai governor, Khaled Megawer.
"We are now receiving the fourth UAE aid ship, carrying 5,300 tonnes including food supplies, supplies needed by children and women as well as tents to shelter those who have no place to live in Gaza," Rashid Al Mansourisaid.
Megawer said that 20 aid ships from different countries had docked in Arish, carrying 34,000 tonnes of aid.
Egyptian and UAE officials visited injured Gazans getting treatment at a UAE-operated floating hospital.
Meanwhile Palestinians rallied in Aqaba to condemn the death of a Hamas leader in the West Bank in Israeli custody.
Mustafa Muhammad Abu Ara died after a deterioration in his health, according to Palestinian governmental body.
Abu Ara, 63, died after being transferred to a hospital from the Ramon jail in southern Israel, the Palestinian Commission of Detainees Affairs said in a statement.
Abu Ara, who was arrested in October last year, was subjected to torture and deprived of medical treatment, the Palestinian body said. There was no immediate comment from Israel.
At least 18 Palestinians have died in Israeli custody since the start of the Gaza war on Oct. 7, the Palestinian Prisoners Association said last month.
Hamas-led attackers killed 1,200 people and took more than 250 captives, according to Israeli tallies. Some 120 hostages are still being held.
Gaza health authorities say more than 39,000 Palestinians have been killed and most of Gaza's 2.3 million people displaced by fighting that has destroyed much of the enclave and created a humanitarian disaster.
