IRGC warns of escalation over Hormuz
Iran says forces ready and warns U.S. against further actions
The Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) announced it has refined operational and defensive plans to counter potential threats, affirming readiness for ground combat and other scenarios while vowing to continue its military strategy, notably control of the Strait of Hormuz. The IRGC said defense forces and intelligence systems are fully prepared across all fronts and claimed U.S. military bases in the region have suffered “devastating blows,” urging a U.S. withdrawal.
Khatam al‑Anbiya Central Headquarters warned that Iranian forces would deliver a strong, unexpected response if U.S. operations such as blockades or “piracy” persist, framing any further aggression as grounds for escalation to achieve “strategic deterrence.” The IRGC also boasted preparations extending to prisoner‑of‑war facilities and reiterated that Iran’s military capability to protect sovereignty is stronger than ever.
Authorities say, however, that coordinated passage through the Strait is allowed for all ships except for those linked to the U.S. and the Israeli regime and associated entities.
The IRGC said Iran would continue to control transit via Hormuz even after the current war of aggression ends permanently.
