Tech leaders praise Trump at White House

U.S. President Donald Trump hosted a high-profile dinner at the White House with over two dozen technology executives, where industry leaders praised his administration's pro-business and pro-innovation policies, particularly regarding artificial intelligence. Notable attendees included Meta founder Mark Zuckerberg, Apple CEO Tim Cook, Microsoft founder Bill Gates, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, and Google executives Sundar Pichai and Sergey Brin.

During the dinner, Zuckerberg highlighted that Meta and other tech companies plan to invest more than $600 billion in U.S. infrastructure and innovation through 2028. Pichai and Brin commended the constructive relationship they have developed with the administration on AI policy, while AMD's Lisa Su credited Trump for accelerating semiconductor development. Microsoft’s Satya Nadella and Gates expressed gratitude for the administration's focus on workforce training and technology trust.

Cook noted that Apple is making significant investments in U.S. manufacturing due to the favorable policies enacted by the Trump administration. Altman referred to Trump as a "pro-business, pro-innovation president," emphasizing that his approach is helping American companies lead in the AI sector. Oracle CEO Safra Catz described the dinner as "incredible," stating that Trump's recognition of AI's transformative potential has unleashed American innovation.

The event marked a notable shift in Silicon Valley's relationship with Trump, which had previously been characterized by conflicts over regulation and content moderation. This recalibration follows Trump's 2024 election victory, with tech leaders now aligning their investments and innovations with his policy framework.

Despite the show of cooperation, some prominent figures, including Elon Musk and Jensen Huang of Nvidia, were absent from the dinner. Musk, although invited, did not attend and sent a representative in his place. The gathering underscored a growing partnership between the tech sector and the Trump administration, focusing on advancing American technological leadership and economic growth.
