Internet personality Andrew Tate is facing 11 criminal charges in Britain, including rape, actual bodily harm, and human trafficking, as announced by the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS). These charges relate to one complainant and were authorized before an extradition warrant was issued in 2024 to bring him to Britain from Romania. His brother, Tristan Tate, faces 10 charges, including similar offenses, involving three complainants. Both brothers have consistently denied any wrongdoing, and their representative declined to comment on the matter.

The CPS stated that Romanian courts, where the Tates are also under investigation, ordered their extradition to Britain last year, but domestic criminal matters in Romania must be resolved first. The Tates traveled to the United States in February after a travel ban was lifted by Romanian prosecutors, returning to Romania the following month to meet legal obligations.

Andrew Tate, a former kickboxer known for promoting an ultra-masculine lifestyle, faces a civil lawsuit in Britain from four women, with the trial scheduled for 2027. UK prosecutors have formally charged the brothers with a total of 21 criminal offenses stemming from a Bedfordshire Police investigation into alleged incidents between 2012 and 2015, involving four women—three linked to Andrew and one to Tristan.

The Tates, who hold dual UK-US citizenship, were arrested in Romania in December 2022 on charges including rape and human trafficking. Although a Romanian appeals court ruled in December 2024 that the case could not proceed to trial due to procedural irregularities, the investigation remains ongoing. UK authorities plan to extradite the brothers once the legal proceedings in Romania are concluded. Both Andrew and Tristan Tate continue to deny all allegations against them.
